AICPA Recognizes Becky Bokrand For Professional Achievement
The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) recognized team member Becky Bokrand, CPA/CFF, CFE for being the first-ever professional Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) to participate in the Accounting Doctoral Scholars Program.
“Becky excels, and exceeds, at everything she sets her mind to,” said Gail Markham, CPA/ABV/CFF, CFE, CFP, Partner at MNMW. “We are very proud of her accomplishments and know that she will be an excellent educator to those joining the field of accounting. Her knowledge of financial forensics will only be a greater benefit to students who are interested in this specialized forensic area of the industry.”
Becky graduated cum laude from Florida Gulf Coast University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Master’s degree in Accounting and Taxation. Her business experience includes ten years in the residential construction industry before entering the public accounting field in 2001. Becky is a Florida licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA), is Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF), and holds the designation of Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. Becky is also a Florida licensed private investigator (PI).
The AIPCA Foundation, along with some of the largest accounting firms in the country, launched the Accounting Doctoral Scholars Program in 2008 to address the growing shortage of academically qualified university accounting faculty members. The professional organization felt that Ph.D.’s with practical experience would be essential for advancing the body of expert knowledge and preparing talented, skilled accountants for the industry.
