School Sales Tax Holiday 2023
The 2023 Back-To-School Sales Tax Holiday is right around the corner. Every year various states offer sales tax holidays and/or tax-free weekends to help reduce the cost burden for its residents. This year, the Back-To-School Sales Tax Holiday will occur from July 24, 2023, through August 6, 2023.
During this sales tax holiday period, Florida law directs that no sales tax or local option tax (also known as discretionary sales surtax) will be collected on purchases of:
- Clothing, footwear, and backpacks costing $100 or less
- School supplies and learning aids costing $50 or less
- Personal computers or computer-related accessories, including non-recreational software, costing $1,500 or less
