MNMW Hosts Annual FREE Community Shred Day Event to Benefit United Way
FORT MYERS, FL (January 13, 2025) – Markham Norton Mosteller Wright & Co., P.A. (MNMW) will team up with All Points Mobile Shredding to host its annual FREE Community Shred Day event on Friday, January 31, 2025, from 9 a.m. until noon. The event will take place at the MNMW Fort Myers location, at 8961 Conference Drive. This event provides a secure and convenient way for individuals to dispose of sensitive documents. While the shredding service is free, MNMW encourages participants to consider donating to the United Way of Lee, Hendry, and Glades Counties. Donations can be in the form of monetary contributions, canned or non-perishable goods, or new/gently used clothing. A representative from United Way will be available on-site to accept donations and answer any questions about their programs.
“We’re thrilled to host the FREE Community Shred Day again this year, providing an opportunity for the community to safely dispose of documents while supporting the United Way’s efforts,” said Camila Sanchez Perez, Marketing Coordinator for MNMW. “It’s a wonderful way for individuals to protect their personal information and contribute to a great cause at the same time.” The items that can be shredded include bank statements, tax records, contracts, blank checks, and other sensitive documents. Other items that are allowed to be shredded are staples, paper clips, binder clips, metal prongs in hanging folders, and spiral-bound notebooks. A good rule of thumb to determine if an item is shreddable is: If it tears, it can be destroyed. However, certain items are not suitable for shredding, including X-rays, 3-ring binders, colored plastic sheets, and electronic items such as hard drives, cellphones, laptops, computers, or batteries. All shredded material will be recycled to support an eco-friendly environment.
For attendees looking to grab a bite to eat, Horse Eyed Jake, a popular food truck, will be on-site offering a variety of delicious food options for purchase.
