Updates for QuickBooks

Intuit QuickBooks (QB) is making product changes that may impact you or your business. We want to share some important dates with you to assist in making your decision on any changes from Desktop to Online.

There are two important dates:

May 31, 2024 – QB Desktop 2021 will be discontinued. Intuit will no longer offer any support for this version of QB, and there are services that will be discontinued, including Desktop Payroll, Payment Process, and Online Banking. You can access more information on which specific services are affected here: QuickBooksHelp.

Upgrading your 2021 or older desktop version of QB now will put your product on a subscription model so that you won’t be impacted by the July 31 changes mentioned below.

July 31, 2024 – QB will no longer sell NEW Desktop or Desktop Enhanced Payroll Subscriptions.

Intuit will no longer sell new subscriptions of the following Desktop products in the U.S.:

  • QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus
  • QuickBooks Desktop Premier Plus
  • QuickBooks Desktop Mac Plus
  • QuickBooks Desktop Enhanced Payroll

This change doesn’t impact existing subscribers. Existing QuickBooks Desktop Plus and Desktop Payroll subscribers can continue to renew their subscriptions after July 31, 2024. Anyone looking to purchase QB after July 31 can choose QB Online, QB Online payroll, or QB Enterprise for Desktop.

As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or need help evaluating your options. Have a great day!
